SEARCH FOR A P200,000.OO BEAUTY IN MANDALUYONG

Deputy Secretary Robert T. Rivera, the man who saved FAMAS' into its near oblivion, the person responsible for the increase of MOWEL Fund's share from the revenues earned from Metro Manila Film Festival, a person who maintains coolness under pressure and remains apolitical despite political turmoil, was awarded the Presidential Award during the 55th FAMAS Award night. It was in his program where President Ramos first appeared to to lay-out his proposal to amend the Constitution into a federal/parliamentary system and submit to the people directly the issue of whether the term of office of the President be shortened, which shifted public opinion and neutralized the pressures from the center, the right and the left of our society that nearly erupted into anarchy during the Garci Tape Scandal. He was also among the first official in the Office of the Press Secretary to call and organize a press briefing during the sieged at Makati to inform the public of the present state of the government.
